• The Business of Engineering by Matthew Loos

Hi!! It’s Dec 27, also my dad and his twin brother’s birthday :))

So, as many of you may already know, I’ve contemplated studying engineering in college. Even though I’ve been told by A LOT of people that most of the coursework is crazy difficult, I’m starting to think that it’s totally worth it because I find the subject matter and creativity of this field just beyond fascinating.

For one of my Christmas presents this year, I received a book titled The Business of Engineering written by Matthew Loos. Honestly, I’ve barely even read deep enough into the book yet, but so far, it looks absolutely incredible.

It discusses the similarities, strategies, and correlation between our economic society and the field of engineering (two of my favorite things everrr). In addition to the general topics, the book also goes into how entrepreneurship and innovative engineering techniques overlap in the world of such a fast-paced industry on both of their behalves. It basically encompasses every aspect of engineering that could be useful and possibly crucial to economic AND technological success: marketing skills, social communication/connection strategies, historical inspiration, active problem-solving techniques, principles of innovative creativity, etc. The theme and aesthetic of this book is just SUPER COOL!!!

Anyways, I’ll definitely have to do another update once I have officially read the book, but here’s a few things/pages that really stood out to me :))
